Job Summary
Conduct strategic sourcing initiatives by analyzing commodity markets, developing cost models, and executing negotiations to finalize agreements and reduce costs against multi-year targets. Manage supplier relationships through performance evaluations, due diligence, and risk mitigation while leading Requests for Information and Quotations. Develop annual commodity plans and long-term roadmaps to optimize service, quality, and sustainability across global supply bases. Lead and coach procurement buyers and representatives to drive continuous improvement in delivery and cost efficiency. Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support new product development and make or buy decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of stable, progressive management experience in Sourcing, Supply Chain or Logistics in a regulated industry, such as Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Aerospace
- Minimum of a four-year degree in a field of study such as engineering, business, logistics, science, or accounting or equivalent training in a related business or technical area
- A high degree of analytic ability and inductive thinking
- Proven experience in evaluating suppliers and partnerships to provide the most cost-effective ways of doing business
- Excellent communication skills and outstanding presentation and public speaking skills
- Lean/Six Sigma training - Green Belt / Black Belt Certification
- Strong and proven negotiation skills
- Financial modeling and problem-solving skills, with ability to make data-driven decisions
- Expert level knowledge of MS Excel
- Advanced knowledge and experience of strategic sourcing processes and methodologies
- Expertise in ERP system/software (i.e., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar)
Desired Qualifications
- APICS, CIPS, or NEVI certification or similar association desired but not required
