Job Summary
The Procurement Manager will direct, plan, schedule, and monitor materials movement through the production cycle to determine required material purchases. Responsibilities include overseeing bill of materials maintenance, ensuring material standards, evaluating vendor reliability, and managing a global procurement team while driving strategies for supplier management and cost savings. The position requires a strong background in procurement within a manufacturing or life sciences environment, including cost savings and contract negotiation, alongside team leadership. Continuous improvement initiatives, managing recruitment, and presenting performance metrics to leadership are key activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of procurement within a manufacturing environment
- Minimum 2 years people management experience
- Strong background within Purchasing with a proven track record in cost reduction, negotiation, and supplier management
- Ability to analyze cost effectiveness and make sound commercial/business decisions and recommendations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
Desired Qualifications
- APICS certification (CPIM) preferred
- Strong preference for a candidate with knowledge of Netsuite based planning system
- Strong preference for a candidate with experience in Life Science Services industry
