Job Summary
Procurement Forester responsible for locating, assessing, costing, and negotiating purchase and harvest of standing timber to supply logs to multiple hardwood sawmills. Duties include locating and marking boundary lines, cruis-ing timber for quantity, appraising timber quality and value, identifying skid roads and landings, applying costs to timber sale prep and harvest, overseeing harvest and BMP compliance, ensuring boundary observance and acceptable residual damage, verifying correct trees are harvested, performing due diligence in purchasing, conducting title research, and applying for permits. Requires an A.S. in Forestry (B.S. preferred), ability to work in a team, clean driving record, strong communication and math skills, and Northern Hardwood ID/map reading proficiency. Full-time role with salary range $55,000–$85,000/year plus benefits.
Required Qualifications
- A.S. Degree in Forestry or an affiliated discipline
- B.S. in Forestry (preferred)
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere
- Clean driving record required
- Good communication skills
- Proficient mathematic skills
- Northern Hardwood tree ID and map reading skills
