Job Summary
Procurement Forester responsible for locating, assessing, costing, and negotiating the purchase and harvest of standing timber to supply logs to hardwood sawmills. Duties include locating and marking boundary lines, cruising timber for quantity, appraising quality and value, identifying skid roads and landings, applying costs to sale preparation and harvesting, overseeing harvests, visiting sites to confirm BMPs, ensuring boundary observance, assessing residual damage, selecting proper trees, due diligence in purchasing, title research, and applying for permits. Qualifications include A.S. in Forestry (B.S. in Forestry preferred), ability to work in a team, clean driving record, good communication, proficient math, and Northern Hardwood ID and map reading skills.
Required Qualifications
- A.S. Degree in Forestry or an affiliated discipline
