Procurement Engineer - MEP

Job Summary
Procurement Engineer responsible for day-to-day mechanical/HVAC procurement, including RFQ/RFP preparation and technical/commercial evaluations. Coordinates with Material Engineer, Engineering, and Site teams to ensure on-time procurement, technical compliance, and cost control for HVAC packages (chillers, boilers, pumps, fans, ducts, piping, controls). Maintains procurement logs, conducts supplier due diligence, issues Contracts/POs/LOIs, and supports negotiations on pricing, delivery terms, warranties, and quality. Requires a Mechanical Engineering degree, 5–8 years of HVAC procurement/execution experience, ERP proficiency, and strong cross-functional communication for effective coordination on large-scale construction projects.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC procurement or execution within the construction industry
- Experience with RFQ/RFP preparation, technical & commercial evaluations, and supplier negotiations
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, pumps, fans, ducting, piping, controls)
- Familiarity with FIDIC contracts and procurement processes within EPC/main contractor environments
- ERP and e-procurement systems proficiency (SAP, Oracle, JDE, IFS, or similar)
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage long-lead items and vendor delivery schedules
- Project experience in large-scale building/high-rise/infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in interpreting drawings, schematics, BOQs, and specifications
