Job Summary
Qualify suppliers to ensure compliance with corporate policies and prepare formal requests for proposals for goods and services. Evaluate project, consultant, and equipment proposals while awarding or rejecting suppliers based on merit. Monitor supplier performance regarding delivery and pricing by interfacing with internal departments and team members. Provide feedback to the Strategic Procurement Department and external vendors. Analyze current market trends, risks, and pricing to support strategic planning. Develop and maintain strong relationships within the renewable energy industry while communicating project and equipment status to multiple stakeholders. This role requires a Bachelor's degree, two years of relevant experience, and knowledge of renewable energy systems and project preconstruction processes. The position is based in Charlottesville, VA, with traditional office hours and flexible scheduling options.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline from a university or college
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Solid and effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of the procurement process and experience negotiating contracts
- Strong organizational and time management skills; acute awareness and ability to manage to numerous deadlines
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Project
- Fundamental understanding of effective document control
- Accuracy and attention to detail are a must
- Experience with project preconstruction processes
- Experience with project execution processes is essential
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally
- Demonstrated independent thinking, initiative, and creativity
- Ability to function successfully both independently and within a team
- Demonstrated professional appearance and conduct
- Ability to work from our headquarters in Charlottesville, VA
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems, engineering principles, project management processes, and construction management processes
- Knowledge of renewable energy photovoltaic and battery storage systems is highly desirable
- Experience with energy storage systems, solar and wind farms is highly desirable
