Job Summary
Coordinate with project execution teams to define material requirements, obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and expedite supplies to meet project commitments. Create and manage purchase orders, track order status, resolve discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in delivery details. Follow up with suppliers on delivery commitments and proactively resolve issues such as material shortages or quality problems using critical thinking. Maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams including logistics, finance, and operations while adhering to company policies. This role reports to the Procurement Manager and supports Inframark's Automation and Intelligence team in delivering instrumentation and controls solutions for water and wastewater plants.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or related field or 4+ years of experience in purchasing; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
- Assertive, self-motivated, goal and result driven
- Strong computer skills
- Experience in process improvement
- Experience in inventory management
- Experience working with ERP systems (Net Suite)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Must be able to sit at a desk for multiple hours at a time
- Background screening
