Job Summary
Monitor supplier performance and handle issues to ensure continuity, while leading risk reviews and driving continuous improvement with key partners. Act as the primary procurement SME for site projects, managing milestones, stakeholder alignment, and accurate tool tracking. Lead sourcing for engineering, facilities, and manufacturing needs, overseeing negotiations and contract management including Statements of Work. Support CAPEX and OPEX planning by identifying savings through bidding and specification optimization. Serve as the factory's procurement contact to support reporting and audits, ensuring all spend adheres to procurement policies. Fluent Japanese and English required; based in Osaka or Hikari with regular travel to other Takeda sites.
Required Qualifications
- Native level Japanese language command in speaking, business writing, and reading
- Intermediate to advanced level English, verbal and written
- 2+ years of procurement/sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of supplier management experience
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Comfort with processes/contracts and accurate documentation
- Ability to travel to supplier locations or other Takeda locations
- Ability to travel regularly between Hikari and Osaka
Desired Qualifications
- Regulated industry experience (e.g., pharma)
- Direct material, OPEX/CAPEX/sourcing experience
- Supplier risk management experience
