Processing Tech I

Processing Tech I provides entry-level specimen processing support under supervision, including matching patient information, data entry, aliquoting, scanning documents, and preparing specimens for laboratory testing. Responsibilities include following SOPs and Safety Manual, attending team meetings, processing specimens as they become available, entering patient demographics, ordering tests, handling and labeling specimens, ensuring correct identifiers, and preparing specimens for delivery to testing laboratories. Proficiency with LIS/LIS-related tools (ITD, Epic), attention to patient confidentiality, safety compliance, and the ability to work a 7-on/7-off schedule (70 hours per week) on-site in Salt Lake City, UT are required. The role involves adherence to departmental procedures, proper handling of specimens at various temperatures, and supporting departmental projects as needed. Experience in central processing and specimen workflow, with the ability to communicate issues to supervisors and follow up tasks, is expected.
