Processing Department Lead

Lead position in the Processing Department focused on training teammates, monitoring production schedules, and ensuring quality and safety. Responsibilities include training on policies, procedures, and equipment operation; monitoring daily production to meet goals; performing duties accurately and safely; reporting issues to the Processing Supervisor; identifying production improvements; ensuring adherence to safety programs; supporting the supervisor and assisting with daily activities, production goals, and special projects; gaining knowledge across the department’s functional areas (Smokehouse Operation, Sanitation, Blend and Grind, Stuffing); maintaining proper setup, operation, and maintenance of machinery; housekeeping and sanitation; reporting materials and labor in ROSS software; conducting quality checks and HACCP records; performing product checks and recording time/temperature; cleaning and sanitizing surfaces and equipment; conducting preventive maintenance; supporting pre-operational inspections; and performing other duties as assigned. Education and experience requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, ability to multitask, basic processing knowledge, proficiency with Word/Excel, ability to stand for long periods in a cold environment, and strong communication skills; at least one year of experience in a training role is preferred.
