Job Summary
Process Technician to assist in plant production and quality assurance, optimize machine performance, perform set-ups and changeovers, conduct testing, and maintain safe, compliant operations. Responsible for improving efficiency and quality, providing technical support to plant operations, supporting earnings-improvement initiatives, ensuring accurate start-up documentation and QC submissions, and maintaining process documentation and clear communication in English. The role emphasizes troubleshooting, problem-solving, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Assists in plant production and quality assurance while maintaining processes & maximizing machine performance, safety, and quality
- Efficient machine set-ups
- Optimizing the use of automation
- Assist in changeovers and preventative maintenance, as required
- Conducts machine/material testing, as required
- Maintains a safe work environment
- Provide ongoing technical support to plant operations to ensure safety, productivity, quality and delivery performance for the plant
- Support Plant EIPs (Earnings Improvement Program)
- Complete machine start-ups, as changes are completed, including submitting start-up parts to QC for inspection
- Adjust processes as required to maintain dimensions to specifications
- Ability to react to situations in a timely manner and be flexible with people and operational assets
- Troubleshoot operating and related process equipment and recommend solutions
- Maintain process documentation
- Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and material specifications
- Be creative, organized self-starter that can work with little or no supervision
- Requires good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a cooperative environment
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and good manufacturing practices
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write and communicate
- Must be able to work safely in a manufacturing environment
