Job Summary
Maintain injection molding machines to ensure quality and on-time product delivery while adhering to plant and OSHA safety policies. Perform set-up, start-up, and mold color changes; troubleshoot operations using injection molding principles. Monitor daily process conditions, log changes, and document mold repair information. Collaborate with production management, the tool room, quality, and engineering teams to resolve equipment and quality problems. Evaluate scrap reduction techniques and lead continuous improvements. Train new mold setters and act as a backup mold setter where needed. Work the 3rd shift, including overtime as required, while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years Injection Molding experience required (or prior external experience)
- Must be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.)
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Requires manual dexterity
- Moderate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment
- Frequently moves from waist level to floor level
- 3rd Shift
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment screenings
- Successful completion of Forklift certification
- Successful completion of LOTO training
- Ability to read and write English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions
- Ability to work overtime as required
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Successful completion of "Fundamentals of Injection Molding" Paulson Training
- Successful completion of "Technology of Injection Molding – Level 1 Module with Skill Builder Simulation" Paulson Training
- Successful completion of "Implementing Decoupled Molding" Paulson Training
- Computer proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word
- Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical mindset, reasoning abilities and problem solving skills
- Basic understanding of molding and processing skills
- Ability to train new Mold Setters as needed
- Can successfully act as backup Mold Setter
- Good training and leadership skills; team oriented
- Highly motivated
