Process Technician II

Job Summary
Start up molds and develop process parameters for injection molding, producing samples for first-piece inspection and troubleshooting dimensional or visual issues. Modify process parameters as needed, pull and set molds for production, and implement improvements to cycle time and parts containment while maintaining quality standards. Troubleshoot molding processes and submit detailed work orders to the tool room or maintenance department for repair or replacement. Assist in root cause analysis of molding defects and communicate problems, needs, and important information to the supervisor. Perform all documentation, practice housekeeping to prevent environmental impacts, and complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience working with molds (mold setting and injection mold processing) in a manufacturing environment
- Experience troubleshooting injection molding processes
- Experience with forklift and pallet jack operation
- Knowledge of plastic materials and their processing characteristics
- Experience with computer controlled machines
- Experience with Engel and Sumitomo machines and robot operation
- Formal plastics injection molding training
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to read and understand work instructions
- Mechanical aptitude
- Use of hand tools and precision measuring/testing instruments
- Physical ability to lift up to 70 pounds
- Must be able to climb up and down ladders frequently
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
