Job Summary
Operate CNC laser markers, welders, and measuring instruments while performing daily setup, parameter logging, and equipment cleanup. Monitor tolerance limits to prevent defects, identify mechanical or safety issues, and notify supervisors immediately. Handle hazardous waste including solvents and explosives in strict accordance with safety regulations and written procedures. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm with overtime as needed, reporting directly to the area Supervisor or Group Leader.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship
- HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Access (ATF) Qualifications
- Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm schedule
- Overtime on a business need basis
- Routine daily setup, operation, and careful logging of process parameters
- Cleanup of various equipment tooling and areas
- Make accurate data sheets and log entries
- Alertness to recognizing problems with equipment
- Communication of potential mechanical and safety problems
- Handling energetics in accordance with safety regulations
- Performance of production-related work assigned by supervisor or group leader in strict accordance with written procedures
- Identification, control and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous waste including solvents, explosives, and lead
- Reading and operating per Manufacturing Procedure, with guidance
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds several times per hour
- Experience with Human Machine Interface (HMI) software to operate equipment and monitor control bands to detect and prevent defects from occurring in real time
Desired Qualifications
- 1+ year of explosive or chemical manufacturing or handling experience
- Mathematical aptitude
- Mechanical aptitude
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions, and simultaneously maintain proper documentation
- Willingness to cross-train and work in all areas of operations
- Experience using CNC laser markers
- Experience using CNC laser welders
- Experience using measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers and power meters
