Job Summary
Set-up, start, and troubleshoot molding presses and secondary equipment using established process control methods. Examine work to detect production defects, interpret blueprint specifications, and adjust machines as necessary. Change end-of-arm tooling, load robot programs, and perform minor maintenance such as oiling, cleaning, or adding coolant. Complete periodic inspection rounds and notify maintenance for major service requirements. Comply with safety guidelines, maintain a clean work area, and assist in training new personnel on job procedures and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Completion of RJG Systematic I Scientific Molding certification or equivalent
- Three to four years of related work experience
- Must be able to work and function in a team environment
- Requires knowledge of mechanical reasoning related to understanding equipment, machinery and their primary functions
- Must be able to visually inspect parts produced
- Must be able to frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds
- Must be available to work off shifts (afternoons and midnights)
- Climbing, bending, stooping is done on frequent basis
- Crawling or climbing into machinery is performed occasionally
- Must use moderate speed and accuracy in operating machines and retrieving parts
- Work requires moderate to heavy physical exertion with above average weight materials or equipment
- Regularly works near moving mechanical parts
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a climate-controlled environment
- Works where the noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Engel equipment and processing of automotive trim parts preferred
