Job Summary
The Process Safety Specialist provides technical services and guidance to support Process Safety improvement activities globally. Key responsibilities include conducting process safety assessments, reviews, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with OSHA and PSM standards, and applying best practices from various safety regulations. The role also involves communicating effectively with clients and consulting teams, developing technical reports, and performing technical reviews. Candidates should possess a BS in Engineering, have a minimum of 5 years' experience in process safety, and demonstrate strong knowledge of safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- BS (or Higher) in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Fire Protection) or other safety-related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of process safety
- Strong knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations (NFPA, Building & Fire Codes, OSHA, etc.)
- Experience and strong knowledge in safety-related areas (PSM, RMP, combustible dust, chemical reaction hazards, flammable liquids/gases, etc.)
Desired Qualifications
- EIT or Safety-related designation preferred (CSP, CFEI, CCPSC, PE, etc.)
- Experience with Combustible Dust, Flammable, and/or other Hazardous Materials is preferred
- Strong personal communications and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure within a team
- Ability to deliver reports and analysis documents within time-driven deadlines
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions
- Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as client activities are scheduled
- Must be able to withstand the rigors of extensive travel
- May require difficult travel and long periods of driving
