Job Summary
Manage the Process Safety Management (PSM) program by developing, implementing, and maintaining all 14 elements of the OSHA standard while coordinating Risk Management Plan activities. Conduct Process Hazard Analyses, including scheduling and revalidations, and administer the Management of Change program to evaluate process modifications. Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented and tracking site key performance indicators. Deliver PSM training to employees and contractors, maintain accurate safety documentation, and serve as the primary contact during regulatory audits. Work with plant personnel and management to evaluate process safety information, improve safety culture, and develop annual budgets for PSM activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, mechanical, environmental), chemistry, or a related field
- 5 years working in a PSM plant
- Experience in chemical industry or process safety management
- Strong knowledge of PSM principles, OSHA regulations, and risk assessment methodologies
- Ability to interpret technical data, conduct safety audits, and manage safety programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team and influence without authority
- Proven experience leading and coordinating PSM and RMP activities in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA 1910.119 and EPA 40 CFR 68 regulations
- Valid driver's license (implied by 'Driving and transport safety' skill and travel requirement)
- Up to 10% travel availability
