Job Summary
Drive a 'zero defect' culture by sustaining operations compliance to regulatory and non-regulatory requirements. Lead continuous improvement activities that proactively build quality into repair processes, ensuring detection methods are robust. Deploy corrective and preventative actions to reduce defects and eliminate reoccurring quality issues. Provide daily support to the operations team to ensure compliance with repair methods and Quality Management System procedures. Lead defect reduction projects and resolve shop floor quality issues by driving actions relating to non-conformance reports and Stop Works Events. Conduct assigned internal audits to ensure compliance to local procedures and support training activities for all employees.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work 1st Shift (7am-3pm)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College (preferably in Engineering – Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical or related technical engineering background)
- high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing, industrial or similar industry
- 3 years of manufacturing quality experience in a similar industry
- Must be legally authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future
- This position is 100% onsite at GE Atlanta, SC Service Center
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in a Quality Management System/QMS (IE: ISO 9001 requirements)
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience within a power generation repair business
- Demonstrated ability to lead change
- Ability to influence and motivate others within a team environment
- Good understanding of workshop practices/processes
- Strong communication & organizational skills
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office minimum)
