Job Summary
Operate the ethanol process across cook, distillation, evaporation, dryers, thermo oxidizers, centrifuges, grain systems, and water treatment while managing the DCS computer control system. Follow Standard Operating Procedures for plant start-up, shut-down, cleaning, and batching, staying within operating parameters and notifying management of any production problems. Collect samples, perform tests including yeast counts, HPLC, and GC, and adjust DCS settings based on results. Maintain accurate logs, keep the facility and control room clean, and brief incoming operators on shift activities. Collaborate with maintenance on mechanical issues and participate in safety programs and training. Perform occasional call-in work and overtime as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to operate utility vehicle
- Hard working and self-motivated
- Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy; dependable; positive attitude; team player
- Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to manage confined space entry
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in dusty conditions
- Must be able to work in high noise environments
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must be able to be exposed to chemicals used in the process
- Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
- Must be able to maintain ongoing work authorization without employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily
