Job Summary
Conduct accurate and accountable operations in fermentation and distillation areas under supervision. Learn ethanol processes including cook, distillation, evaporation, dryers, thermo oxidizer, centrifuges, grain system, and water treatment. Operate the DCS computer control system and follow Standard Operating Procedures for plant start-up, shut down, cleaning, and batching. Stay within operating parameters, notify management of production problems, and keep accurate logs. Collect samples, perform tests for consistent product quality, and monitor adjustments based on results. Maintain clean facility, control room, and break room. Brief incoming shift operators, coordinate with maintenance on mechanical issues, and communicate with the Laboratory on testing procedures. Participate in safety programs and ongoing training. Available occasionally for call-in work and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to operate utility vehicle
- Hard working and self-motivated
- Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy; dependable; positive attitude; team player
- Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Must be able to manage confined space entry
- Must be able to climb ladders and steps
- Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs
- Must be able to work at heights
- Must be able to work near moving mechanical parts
- Must be able to work in dusty conditions
- Must be able to work in high noise environments
- Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions
- Must be able to be exposed to chemicals used in the process
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Must be able to pass a background check
