Job Summary
Oversee the rendering process from raw material bin to finished goods storage, maintaining steady material flow to the cooker and controlling temperature, rate, and steam at peak levels. Monitor evaporation rates, operate pollution control systems for air and wastewater, and manage boiler start-up and operation. Perform periodic preventative maintenance on equipment, check control panels and gauges, and address machinery issues immediately. Ensure the work area remains clean after each shift while adhering to strict safety rules and the food safety program. Travel to offsite locations as needed and work nights or weekends when required.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work nights and/or weekends as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Manufacturing, industrial, or agricultural experience
- Prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment
- Knowledge of mechanical rendering and or process equipment
- Good mechanical aptitude and equipment troubleshooting; skilled in general mechanics and safe operation of equipment
- Ability to deal with minor problems involving equipment or various situations
- Works well with others in a team environment
