Job Summary
Operate Vidalia Anode Material plant safely and efficiently in accordance with daily/weekly production instructions and plans. Read and interpret P&ID’s, loop diagrams, instrumentation systems, and OEM manuals; develop and implement Safe Work Instructions; monitor plant environment for safety; ensure quality products and minimal waste; participate in safety trainings and toolbox sessions; mentor peers and support continuous improvement initiatives; communicate status and parameters to the shift team; assist with QA/QC adherence and safety/regulatory requirements; maintain housekeeping and readiness for audits; and perform duties as directed by the Operations Superintendent or Team Leaders.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience in process operations
- Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment
- Able to read, interpret and effectively use drawings and documentation related to electrical and process controls including electrical one-line diagrams, elementary diagrams, wiring schematics, control schematics, P&ID’s, cause and effect diagrams, instrument loop diagrams, and interconnect diagrams
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities and problem-solving skills
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
- Experience working with OSHA Regulations
- Proactiveness and proven capacity to think conceptually and make assertive decisions
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and follow safety procedures and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to act in a self-directed manner with no immediate supervision
- Ability to work in a team environment and share information as required
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. multiple times daily unassisted, 75 lbs assisted, and push or pull 100 lbs. assisted; must be able to stand/walk for extended periods
- Must be willing to work inside and outside in all-weather elements as required
