Job Summary
Operate a wastewater treatment dewatering filter press to separate solids from liquids, prioritizing health and safety through adherence to policies and consistent safe practices. Assist in unloading hazardous materials into treatment pits, decontaminate trucks using water hoses, and operate reagent delivery systems and sump pumps. Review laboratory data to determine proper material handling, utilize chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions, and maintain accurate operating logs. Perform basic spill cleanup, maintain general housekeeping of operating areas and equipment, and operate forklifts and bobcats as needed. Work Monday through Friday from 6pm to 4:30am.
Required Qualifications
- High-school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of related experience
- Must be available Monday through Friday 6pm - 4:30am
- Must be able to operate a fork truck, bobcat with attachments and other Arcwood vehicles as needed
- Must be able to assist in unloading dump trailers, roll-off boxes and tankers of hazardous materials into appropriate treatment pits
- Must be able to operate reagent delivery systems and sump pumps
- Must be able to maintain accurate operating logs and associated documentation
- Must be able to complete basic spill cleanup with little direction
- Must be able to maintain general housekeeping including keeping operating areas, walls, pipes, and floor in clean and safe conditions
- Must be able to utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and a respirator
- Must be able to adhere to policies, processes, and consistently maintain safe practices
- Must be able to utilize thorough knowledge of loading and unloading procedures in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local regulations
- Must be able to maintain an understanding of and adherence to related State and Federal regulations for waste management
- Must be able to utilize understanding of if chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions or other potential issues
- Must be able to review laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials
- Must be able to take on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization
- A post-offer drug screen and background check will be required
