Job Summary
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment necessary for the manufacturing function in the process area. Perform related duties including reading mechanical blueprints, furnishing personal tools, and promoting continuous process improvement and LEAN principles. Apply working knowledge of pneumatics, power transmissions, pumps, valves, and bearings to diagnose and resolve mechanical equipment issues. This role supports the Maintenance team at McKee Foods, a family bakery known for Little Debbie® and Drake's® Cakes, working the 2nd shift from Sunday through Thursday.
Required Qualifications
- Working knowledge and thorough understanding of pneumatics, power transmissions (chain drives, e.g.), pumps, valves and bearing application
- Technical maintenance training
- Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve mechanical equipment issues
- Ability to read mechanical blueprints and drawings
- Accurate measuring ability
- Ability to furnish personal tools as required on the Process Mechanic tool list
- Demonstrated ability to promote continuous process improvement and LEAN principles
Desired Qualifications
- Sketching ability
- Four years of industrial maintenance experience
- Experience as a Maintenance Utility at McKee Foods
- Hydraulics experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain an L.T.O. Lift Truck Operator license
- Electrical training at a technical school
- Basic welding and fabrication
- Basic machine shop
