Process Maintenance Technician

Job Summary
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on process plant mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, crushers, mills, gearboxes, and piping. Troubleshoot rotating equipment, identify root causes of failures, and execute major shutdowns involving disassembly, inspection, and reassembly. Conduct routine inspections for wear, misalignment, or vibration while maintaining proper tolerances during installation and repair. Collaborate with Process Operations to diagnose performance issues, document work orders in systems like SAP, and ensure compliance with safety standards and lockout/tagout procedures. Assist with parts coordination and inventory support as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 3-7 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within mining, processing, or heavy industrial environments
- Strong experience with rotating equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and conveyors
- Demonstrated experience in precision alignment, equipment installation, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Experience supporting plant shutdowns and major equipment rebuilds
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
- Strong understanding of safe work practices, including lockout/tagout and hazard recognition
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic operational environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement
