Process Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright)

Job Summary
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical processing equipment including crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, pumps, and rotating systems. Dismantle, repair, and rebuild mechanical components while troubleshooting failures and conducting root cause analysis to minimize downtime. Execute safety-first protocols including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and hazard mitigation in compliance with MSHA and OSHA regulations. Coordinate shutdowns, upgrades, and turnaround activities with operations and electrical teams. This role is based at the Thacker Pass facility in Humboldt County, Nevada, with occasional travel to other LAC offices or project sites.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2–5 years of mechanical maintenance experience in mining, chemical manufacturing, or heavy industrial processing environments
- Working knowledge of rotating equipment and industrial mechanical systems
- Experience in performing preventive and corrective maintenance on process plant equipment
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic measuring instruments
- Welding and/or fabrication experience
- Experience with pump and motor alignment
- Ability to work safely in compliance with OSHA/MSHA regulations and site safety standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duties as required
- Physically capable of lifting 50–75 lbs., climbing ladders and stairs, working at heights, and in confined spaces
