Job Summary
Assist in measuring and improving yield, efficiency, and capacity of manufacturing equipment and processes while documenting, modifying, and maintaining manufacturing procedures. Manage the procurement of assembly process tools and train operators and support staff as needed. Apply SEL Values, Principles of Operation, and World Class Manufacturing Principles to ensure accurate and efficient production. This role requires a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience, familiarity with relevant manufacturing equipment, and strong documentation skills. Candidates must be willing to travel 8-12 weeks during the first 4-6 months for training. The team focuses on optimizing manufacturing performance, reducing downtime, and increasing operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Must be willing and able to travel during the first 4-6 months of employment for training, totaling approximately 8-12 weeks in two-week increments
- You have a two-year technical degree or equivalent experience
- Familiarity with the manufacturing equipment relevant to the role
- You have basic computer skills including familiarity with windows-based programs such as Microsoft productivity tools (e.g., Excel, Word, SQL)
- You have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
- You can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
- You can work cooperatively in a team environment
- Lift and maneuver 40 pounds
- Pull weight from high/low shelves
- Reach Bend Grip Twist
- Sit and/or stand at least 8 hours
- Fine finger dexterity
Desired Qualifications
- It is a plus if you have: Experience troubleshooting process and machinery problems
- It is a plus if you have: Experience writing and/or conducting Design of Experiments
- It is a plus if you have: Experience programming and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment and machinery
- It is a plus if you have: Experience preparing materials cross-sections for microscopic analysis
- It is a plus if you have: Working knowledge of basic analog and digital electronics
