Process Engineering Technician

Job Summary
Monitor assigned process areas in semiconductor manufacturing operations and investigate routine production issues. Release Work-In-Process from hold after completing verification and documentation, while performing engineering experiments, process qualifications, and characterization activities as directed. Collect, analyze, and document process data to support yield improvement and defect reduction initiatives, ensuring compliance with cleanroom protocols and quality standards. Escalate abnormal conditions to assist with root cause investigations and maintain accurate production records and engineering documentation. Train and certify production operators, review process specifications for accuracy, and contribute to continuous improvement projects. Work in Class 100 to Class 10,000 cleanroom environments, adhering to all Environmental, Health & Safety policies and ISO standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 4+ years of experience
- Working knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes
- Understanding of wafer processing and/or back-end assembly operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must comply with all cleanroom contamination control protocols
- Work in Class 100 to Class 10,000 cleanroom environments for extended periods
- Wear full cleanroom attire, including gown, gloves, mask, hood, and safety glasses
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift
- Sit as required for data analysis and documentation
- Lift up to 30 pounds
- Push and pull carts or equipment up to 30 pounds
- Perform repetitive motions associated with manufacturing operations
- Work around chemicals, compressed gases, and automated manufacturing equipment
- Following all established safety procedures
- Reporting unsafe conditions immediately
- Using required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Participating in required EHS training
- All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards
Desired Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical discipline
- Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, wafer fabrication, advanced packaging, MEMS, compound semiconductor processing, or related high-volume manufacturing
