Job Summary
Assist Bitumen Production or Utilities & Upgrading teams with operations, maintenance, and engineering design activities. Gather field measurements and data to support engineers, then review assets to identify process optimization opportunities. Participate in developing and executing field and lab improvements, including pilot development, while collaborating with Project and Operations teams to resolve engineering issues. This 4-on/3-off, 10-hour shift work term in Fort McMurray runs for 8 or 12 months starting January, May, or September 2027.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in bachelor's degree program in Chemical engineering or Mechanical
- Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract
- A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
- All candidates applying to Canadian Natural must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
Desired Qualifications
- Chemical engineering (preferred)
- Motivated and positive attitude
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
