Job Summary
Lead & mentor a high-performing team of Process Engineers on the Stack Forging process, bridging development to high-volume production and ensuring components are designed and built for throughput and cost. Responsibilities include root-cause analysis, process tuning and optimization across laser cutting, metal bonding, surface characterization, and complex geometry; serve as the primary link between the production floor and broader engineering, driving long-term improvements in testing and manufacturing capabilities. Must be a hands-on engineering leader with ownership mindset, capable of coaching engineers, and delivering successful customer outcomes in a fast-growth environment using data-driven analysis (Python) and CAD (Onshape). This role emphasizes transitioning parts to mass production, scaling processes, and leading strategic improvements while maintaining a hands-on presence on the production floor.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 7–10+ years of professional engineering experience or a PhD with 5+ years of experience
- Manufacturing expertise in mass-production environments
- Experience with laser cutting, metallurgy, or surface chemistry
- Proficiency with CAD (Onshape preferred) and Python for data analysis
- Leadership experience managing engineering teams or leading significant projects
- Ability to work on-site with significant time on the production floor
- Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration skills
