Process Engineer – UK Water/Wastewater – All Levels

Job Summary
Lead and contribute to process engineering design across major UK water/wastewater programmes (e.g. AMP8, WINEP, SROs) from feasibility to detailed design. Roles span optioneering, mass balance, PFDs, PID drawings, scoping and basis of design reports, site data collection, and liaison with technology providers. Involve safety studies (HAZOP, SWIFT, DSEAR, HAC/HAP), design support during delivery, reviewing contractor submissions, and commissioning handover. Participate in business development, bid inputs, and recruitment/mentoring to grow the process engineering capability. Travel to operational sites as required; Chartered Engineer status or progression toward chartership is expected. Desirable skills include experience with design simulation packages (BioWin, SUMO, DYNAMIZU), water reuse, and BD/work-winning activities. Hybrid working arrangement across London, Bristol, and Manchester.
Required Qualifications
- BEng/MEng in Chemical/Process Engineering
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards chartership
- Experience delivering process engineering design in UK Water sector
- Experience leading process engineering on projects or significant tasks
- Knowledge of safety studies: HAZOP, SWIFT, DSEAR, HAC/HAP
- Knowledge of UK water industry standards and CDM/safety-by-design
- Experience in consultancy/engineering environments
- Strong written reports and presentations
- Willingness to travel to sites as required
