Job Summary

Develop, conduct, and manage product validation and development testing activities for complex mechanical systems. Create test plans, coordinate prototype hardware procurement, and set up instrumentation for laboratory and field testing. Collect and analyze performance, vibration, and stress data to evaluate product reliability and durability. Investigate test failures, compare results with analytical predictions, and generate technical reports for continuous improvement. Manage multiple validation projects, schedules, and deliverables while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams. Travel up to 25% to customer, supplier, or proving ground locations as project needs dictate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or related engineering discipline
  • Experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, industrial equipment, or production environments
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and commitments
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to travel (up to 25% of time)

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with heat treat, casting, forging, machining, fabrication, manufacturing, or industrial process environments
  • Experience supporting capital equipment projects, facility improvements, or manufacturing process upgrades
  • Experience working with industrial equipment and production operations
  • Experience performing root cause investigations and corrective action activities
  • Experience working with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams
  • Experience with quality systems, validation activities, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with materials, metallurgical processes, mechanical systems, or industrial production equipment
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, or startup activities
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Creo, or similar engineering software tools
  • Desire to work in an engineering environment focused on manufacturing excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement
