Job Summary
Partner with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to identify safety improvements, reduce scrap, qualify material streams, and optimize Bills of Materials and equipment performance. Drive cost reduction through process optimization and waste reduction while developing clear documentation and work instructions. Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events, and structured problem solving. Manage capital improvement projects from concept to implementation and support new product development and material qualification efforts. Work on the manufacturing floor analyzing data to improve quality, throughput, and yield.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering
- Bachelor's degree in a related engineering discipline
- 1–2+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Experience utilizing data analysis and statistical tools to drive improvements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to visually inspect products for quality standards
- Use of required PPE while on the production floor
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in plastics, extrusion, or related manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience leading Kaizen events or process improvement projects
- Familiarity with quality systems and reliability analysis
