Job Summary
Process Engineer to develop and implement efficient production methods for an expanding polymer materials manufacturer. Responsibilities include collaborating with chemists and operations to implement new or transferred material technology, investigating internal and external non-conformances via root cause analysis and preventive actions, developing processes complying with safety and quality standards, analyzing equipment for asset utilization, specifying and installing new process equipment, implementing Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement (5S, process mapping, simulation, etc.), and working with management to achieve department goals while driving efficiency improvements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Over 5 years hands-on experience in thermoplastics, polymer blend, or related technology
- Profound understanding of formulation, material science, and associated equipment
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a diverse team environment
- Self-directed individual with strong interpersonal skills to ensure timely project completion
- Expertise in Six Sigma and Lean methodologies, contributing to continuous process improvement
- Capability to work in and support an ISO 9000 environment, ensuring adherence to quality standards
