Job Summary
Oversee and optimize operation of installed warehouse automation systems within a 355,000 sq ft pharmaceutical returns facility. Responsibilities include troubleshooting and improving PLC-controlled electrical/electronic control systems, applying mechanical/electrical/controls engineering principles to boost throughput and accuracy, utilizing schematics and diagnostic tools (DMM, oscilloscope), supporting MES integration and WES applications, conducting multivariable analyses on cycle times and OEE, and facilitating cross-functional FMEA workshops. The role emphasizes independent and team-based project execution, vendor coordination, and proactive maintenance to ensure reliable automation performance.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial)
- 4-7 years of experience in controls engineering, automation engineering, or related field
- Proven experience with process engineering of large-scale warehouse automation systems (e.g., ASRS, conveyance, sortation)
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens) and HMI/SCADA systems
- Experience with vision systems, robotics, and AI-driven automation is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Effective communication and project management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team to manage projects from conception to execution
- Capability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic control systems
- Comfort with using engineering tools (e.g., DMM, ammeter, oscilloscope) to diagnose issues
- Experience with MES integration and warehouse automation optimization
