Job Summary
Process Engineer role focused on developing and fine-tuning molding processes in a manufacturing setting. Responsibilities include maintaining setup sheets and mold shim packages, reviewing COAs, conducting mold and material trials with suppliers, collaborating with Mold Shop and R&D to implement improvements, leading monthly cross-functional reviews to track performance, scrap, and quality, performing weekly testing on molded SMC products (dimensions, color, hardness, surface energy), maintaining data and initiating supplier-driven improvements, managing mold maintenance and quotations, and coordinating with vendors and management to ensure plant-wide mold communication. Requires strong technical writing and communication skills, proficiency with process software and AutoCAD, and knowledge of manufacturing engineering practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (Required)
- Master's degree preferred for more advanced roles or R&D (Preferred)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and communication skills (Required)
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, MATLAB) and design software (e.g., AutoCAD) (Usually required)
- Certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, PMP can be advantageous (Optional)
- MS Word, Excel, Outlook (Intermediate) (Preferred)
