Job Summary
Conduct daily proactive monitoring of process conditions and equipment performance to identify optimization opportunities. Analyze operational data and trends to improve process efficiency, product quality, and unit profitability. Troubleshoot process upsets and equipment issues, developing corrective actions for distillation columns, reactors, and heat exchangers. Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives while performing process safety evaluations and hazard analyses. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to ensure alignment on production objectives and process improvements. Ensure refinery activities comply with environmental, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Requires Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and 3+ years of relevant process engineering experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant process engineering experience
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret process data, identify performance gaps, and implement effective solutions
- Knowledge of process safety management principles, including hazard analysis, risk assessment, management of change, and safe operating practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve business and operational goals
- Must pass annual respirator fit testing
- Move up to 40 pounds by lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise repositioning objects
- Ability to reach all work areas in the plant (i.e. climb ladders, negotiate catwalks, handle heights to 50 feet, etc.)
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection)
- Applicants for regular U.S. positions must be authorized to work in the United States for Motiva Enterprises LLC without the need for sponsorship of an immigration authorization or visa
