Job Summary
Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for aerospace components and systems. Define process sequences, tooling requirements, and work instructions while preparing APQP documentation including balloon drawings, control plans, and PFMEA. Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T principles to ensure manufacturability, coordinate engineering changes via ECNs, and maintain SAP BOMs and routings. Collaborate with NPD, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support product lifecycle activities from NPI through ramp-up, ensuring compliance with AS9100 and customer standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related discipline
- 4–8 years of experience in Process Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Industrialization within the Aerospace, Defence, Precision Manufacturing, or High-Reliability EMS industry
- Experience in machining and assembly manufacturing environments
- Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications
- Excellent knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
- Experience preparing APQP documentation, including Balloon Drawings, Process Flow Charts, Stage Drawings, Control Plans, PFMEA, and Work Instructions
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and CATIA for drafting and modeling
- Experience with Configuration Management, ECN preparation, and revision control
- Hands-on experience with SAP for BOM creation and process routing
- Good understanding of machining processes and mechanical assembly
- Ability to identify design gaps, manufacturability issues, and missing engineering information
- Knowledge of fixture design and manufacturing tooling concepts
- Experience handling customer engineering portals
- Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS)
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of aerospace quality standards such as AS9100
- Familiarity with NADCAP requirements and special process controls
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and process validation
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and structured problem-solving methodologies
- Strong analytical and documentation skills
