Job Summary
Monitor process performance to identify yield and energy efficiency opportunities, then plan test runs and projects to address them. Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges while developing relationships with console and field operators. Lead hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and management of change activities, and maintain unit mass balance within tolerance. Update process documentation and assess corporate standards to recommend improvements and standardization. This 3-month contract assignment in Martinez, CA, requires a local candidate with a Chemical Engineering degree and 3-4 years of refining experience to support turnarounds and scope development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
- 3-4+ years of experience in process engineering within refining, petrochemical, or related industries
- Familiar with process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS)
- Strong understanding of process engineering principles
- Local candidates only
- 9/80 or 5/8's schedule
Desired Qualifications
- Previous refinery experience highly preferred
