Job Summary
Senior Process Engineer responsible for designing process systems for media flow and control in thermal heat treatment equipment and product thermal cycles; develop, design, and implement process systems and P&IDs; create functional description documents for project automation engineers; conduct risk assessments; serve as technical liaison to clients; manage 1+ engineers/designers and assist with resource loading and project delivery; support procurement, manufacturing, and commissioning; prepare scope of work, part/assembly drawings, and bill of materials; maintain project requirements and ensure design quality; train client personnel and provide ongoing technical assistance; communicate design details to clients and partners; require a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years in steel mill equipment and thermal processes; proficiency in CAD tools (3D Inventor, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD); familiarity with media gases (hydrogen, nitrogen, argon) and thermal processing knowledge.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ Years of direct experience with steel mill equipment, metals or thermal processes
- Advanced knowledge of 3D CAD systems (3D Inventor/Solid Edge/SolidWorks) and 2D AutoCAD
- Knowledge of hydrogen, nitrogen, argon or related process gases
- Ability to lead others and collaborate across teams
