Process Engineer - Injection Molding

Job Summary
Process Engineer with expert-level injection molding and lean manufacturing experience who will provide technical support across Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, and Maintenance to resolve issues and drive continuous process improvements. Responsible for implementing process improvements affecting scrap, labor, and downtime; leading continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives using Lean and Six Sigma tools (6S, SMED, error-proofing); conducting PFMEA activities for new product launches; identifying root causes and implementing permanent corrective actions for process-related customer rejections; communicating with suppliers and customers about materials and equipment; leading investigation teams for scrap reduction and cycle-time reduction; establishing robust production processes for each mold and optimal machine settings; maintaining process standards for raw material dryers; providing technical support and training to processing and molding departments; providing engineering support to Tool Room, Maintenance, and Molding; and contributing to product launches and ongoing process development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering from an accredited college or university, or equivalent injection molding processing experience
- Minimum 10 years of related manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of thermoplastic morphologies and their properties
- Understanding of polymer chain degradation and its causes and effects
- Fundamentals of Systematic Molding certification
- Master Molder 1 certification
- Master Molder 2 certification
