Job Summary
Identify and develop process improvements by working directly on the manufacturing floor, implementing and documenting changes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Develop production and process methods to meet quality standards while investigating and providing remedies for manufacturing process problems. Provide hands-on technical support for day-to-day operations, troubleshooting equipment, and resolving procedural issues. Assist R&D in the development and scale-up of new products and work closely with Operations, Maintenance, and QA teams to ensure seamless integration of improvements. Indirectly manage and mentor team members, foster a collaborative environment, and lead technical and operational projects. Maintain detailed records on assigned projects and assist Maintenance teams in evaluating equipment problems and modifying existing equipment. Develop, implement, and communicate work instructions and procedures to support responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing
- 3-5 years of documented Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
- Willing to travel (10%)
Desired Qualifications
- Extrusion coating experience is an asset
- Web handling experience preferred
- Six Sigma experience as Green or Black Belt is an asset
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills
