Job Summary
Process Engineer II for IR materials manufacturing focusing on developing, sustaining, and improving processes used to manufacture IR sensing materials (HgCdTe), with responsibilities including process ownership, material disposition, process development, and troubleshooting. Supports yield improvement, cycle-time reduction, and maintains manufacturing metrics in a Class 100 clean room environment. Requires collaboration with management, peers, technicians, and support personnel; office/ manufacturing environment with 9/80 schedule; U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD clearance are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields such as Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics
- 2-5+ years of experience in manufacturing/engineering environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and desire to work with equipment/tools for process improvement, development, and troubleshooting
- Ability to communicate with individuals with diverse educational backgrounds
- Willingness to spend extended periods in manufacturing areas or cleanrooms
- Self-starter with excellent verbal communication and documentation skills
- Flexible and able to perform a wide variety of tasks and processes
- Ability to manage and balance production requirements and development activities
