Process Engineer I

Process Engineer I contributes to project deliverables under direct guidance from senior engineers and project leads while developing foundational skills essential to pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical facility design. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and implementation of manufacturing processes (e.g., biological, API, oral solid dosage, cell therapy, aseptic processing/filling) and supporting systems (e.g., clean utilities, CIP, buffer/media prep, waste inactivation/treatment); supporting senior engineers in preparing P&IDs, equipment lists, specifications, and technical reports; participating in process simulations; learning document control practices; developing understanding of project phases; organizing engineering documents to reflect background, design intent, assumptions, analysis, and conclusions; assisting with P&ID development including back-checking and redlining; collaborating with other disciplines to ensure P&ID consistency; supporting development and maintenance of equipment lists; reviewing existing calculations and developing basic calculations; and learning fundamentals of pharmaceutical regulatory and industry standards (FDA, ISPE, ASTM, BPE).
