Job Summary
Evaluate, implement, and monitor processes for flexible packaging manufacture while driving global projects to source capital needs and optimize production capacity. Define and manage project activities for new product commercial release, translating customer needs into quantifiable CTQs to scope designs and execute complex validation efforts with documented protocols. Collaborate with site operations to resolve technical challenges, perform cost and quality improvement projects to reduce COGS, and apply risk management best practices throughout the development lifecycle. Act as a conduit to the commercial team regarding cost structures and milestone timelines. Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5+ years in polymer extrusion and converting, plus proficiency in Project Management and Design of Experiment tools. Works with minimal supervision, performing light physical activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience in a related field
- 5+ years industry experience in polymer extrusion and converting
- Familiar with Polyolefin materials and able to recommend the use of different material families based on the application and use of the end product
- Understanding of flexographic printing process, including inks, plate materials, diluents, drying, and overall printing process
- Demonstrated ability applying tools within Project Management, Design of Experiment, Design for Lean Six Sigma and Statistical Analysis
- Track record of being resourceful and innovative to pull together the tools, equipment, and resources, to drive projects across the finishline
- Effectively communicates project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve, identify errors and deficiencies, and perform research
Desired Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Engineering discipline
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project
- Demonstrated ability to complete product design transfers
- High degree of understanding of ISO 13485 requirements for Design Controls
- Knowledge of applicable standards for EtO sterilization (e.g. ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11135-1, ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11135-2)
