Job Summary
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness while designing, implementing, and validating new equipment and process improvements. Conduct root cause analysis of process deviations to implement corrective actions, monitor key process indicators, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution. Create and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and work instructions, while applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies. This role targets experienced Process Engineers with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering and 3+ years in process optimization within West Michigan manufacturing environments.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- 3+ years experience in process optimization, troubleshooting, and improvement within a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, PRO/II) and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies
- Proven ability to design, implement, and monitor process control strategies
Desired Qualifications
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
- Experience with Process Simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic)
- Familiarity with SQL and database management
- Project management experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in a programming language (e.g., Python, R) for data analysis
