Job Summary
Process Engineer to perform engineering assignments for the Engineering Department as a technical specialist, formulating and developing moderately complex engineering concepts. Responsibilities include designing chemical plant equipment and processes, conducting research to develop new/ improved manufacturing processes, planning layouts for chemical processes, optimizing operations to meet quality standards cost-effectively, supervising contractors, reviewing vendor proposals, developing project scopes and budgets (AFE), tracking schedules and costs, ensuring compliance with refinery and OSHA standards, and facilitating improvements to equipment utilization and process efficiency. Preference for Professional Engineer registration; refinery/petrochemical experience and knowledge of FCC/CCR/alkyl processing and hydrotreating are noted as preferred experience areas. Willingness to travel up to 10% and work in office/plant environments is required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related)
- 2+ years progressive engineering experience (refinery/petrochemical preferred)
- Intermediate knowledge of engineering concepts and project coordination skills
