Job Summary
Design, analyze, and continuously improve fulfillment and distribution center operations for web and retail channels. Map and re-engineer end-to-end order flows (receiving → putaway → picking → packing → shipping) and optimize slotting, conveyor, sortation, and packing line layouts to maximize throughput. Partner with WMS/WCS teams to configure system rules and labor management. Develop engineered labor standards and staffing models; identify productivity gaps through LMS data; support ergonomic assessments. Lead Kaizen, DMAIC, and rapid improvement projects; own capital project lifecycle from business case to go-live; evaluate automation technologies (AMRs, goods-to-person, automated packing). Build dashboards (UPH, dock-to-stock, ship-on-time), develop SOPs and training materials, and ensure OSHA compliance. Must be bilingual in English and Spanish and able to operate in a North East, MD facility.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, or Supply Chain Engineering
- 2–5 years in fulfillment, distribution, or logistics engineering
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- WMS (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, SAP EWM), LMS, AutoCAD/SketchUp for layouts, Excel/SQL/Power BI, Minitab or similar
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, Lean certification, or APICS CSCP/CLTD a plus. PMP helpful for capital project roles.
