Job Summary
The East Greenville Process Engineer will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and maintenance to drive continuous improvement and support the plant’s operational goals. Responsibilities include ensuring safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance; preparing new batch records; developing and implementing new or modified production processes and equipment; identifying opportunities for productivity, cost reduction, and quality improvements; leading root cause analysis and corrective actions; monitoring key process parameters and reporting performance; supporting commissioning of new equipment; assisting with management information systems and ERP data; driving continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies; providing technical training and developing training tools; acting as deputy to the East Greenville Plant Manager; and collaborating with suppliers and other engineers to advance projects. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field, 2–5 years of manufacturing experience, strong problem-solving and communication skills, proficiency with process simulation and data analysis tools, knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, and willingness to work in a 24/7 manufacturing operation. Growth paths include Operations Leader, Technical Sales Engineer, and Capital Project Engineer, with travel to vendor locations and conferences as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Champion and embodiment of CPS Core Values
- Strong knowledge of process design, optimization, and control
- Proficiency in process simulation software and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel, SPC)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement frameworks
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Knowledge of safety and regulatory requirements relevant to the manufacturing industry
- Willingness to accept the demands of a twenty-four hour, seven day manufacturing operation
- Ability to multitask and establish priorities in an environment of competing expectations
- Willingness to continue education and personal development for the purposes of staying up to date with industry, technology, and regulatory requirements
- Desire to be a change agent, not getting discouraged, but persevering through times of conflict
- Flexible and open minded to change while at the same time being able to hold an unwavering position
- Ability to analyze data, look for trends, and draw conclusions for said data
