Job Summary
Process Engineer position in a steel manufacturing environment responsible for applying process engineering techniques to design, specification, review and development of new manufacturing processes or system capability; perform engineering studies, detail design, procurement, installation, acceptance testing, troubleshooting and performance audits; contribute to schedules and priorities within the work team to meet contract specifications; maintain effective communication with stakeholders; draft reports and presentations to explain design changes; investigate incidents and process failures and communicate corrective actions; contribute to safety, quality improvements, and cost optimization; must be able to work in a union environment and operate in a 24/7 production setting.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Material Science, Metallurgical, and Chemical Engineering from four-year college or university, with at minimum two years of work-related experience.
- Must have the ability to work effectively within a team environment, utilizing clear and effective communication skills.
- Ability to self-learn new hardware/software platforms.
- Must be able to work in a multi-level organization which operates 24/7.
- Computer and data analysis skills, including Microsoft applications.
